A\u00fan se necesita m\u00e1s investigaci\u00f3n, pero la evidencia actual no respalda este mito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mito #2: La TRT reduce el tama\u00f1o de los test\u00edculos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Otro mito sostiene que la suplementaci\u00f3n con testosterona har\u00e1 que los test\u00edculos dejen de producirla de forma natural y se encojan. En realidad, la mayor\u00eda de los hombres mantienen la producci\u00f3n natural de testosterona con la TRT, junto con el tama\u00f1o y la funci\u00f3n testicular. Un estudio no observ\u00f3 diferencias en el volumen testicular despu\u00e9s de 2 a\u00f1os de TRT. La reducci\u00f3n temporal de los test\u00edculos puede ocurrir en hombres que ya ten\u00edan niveles bajos de testosterona antes de la TRT. En general, hay poca evidencia de cambios testiculares permanentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mito #3: La TRT provoca co\u00e1gulos sangu\u00edneos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La creencia de que la TRT (terapia de reemplazo de testosterona) aumenta el riesgo de co\u00e1gulos sangu\u00edneos es otro malentendido. Si bien los esteroides sint\u00e9ticos del pasado conllevaban este riesgo, la testosterona bioid\u00e9ntica de hoy en d\u00eda no parece aumentar los factores de coagulaci\u00f3n ni el recuento de plaquetas. Los hombres mayores de 45 a\u00f1os tienen naturalmente un mayor riesgo de coagulaci\u00f3n debido al envejecimiento y a factores del estilo de vida. Los hombres m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes podr\u00edan querer evitar la TRT si tienen otros factores de riesgo individuales de co\u00e1gulos sangu\u00edneos, pero la TRT en s\u00ed misma no aumenta el riesgo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mito #4: La TRT empeora la apnea del sue\u00f1o<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Muchos creen que la testosterona suplementaria agrava la apnea del sue\u00f1o. Nuevamente, los estudios no respaldan este mito con evidencia. Si bien las fluctuaciones de testosterona pueden influir en la respiraci\u00f3n durante el sue\u00f1o, no se ha encontrado que la TRT empeore la apnea del sue\u00f1o preexistente. Sin embargo, la respuesta a la dosis no est\u00e1 clara, por lo que los hombres que comienzan la TRT con apnea del sue\u00f1o no tratada deben controlar cualquier efecto. En general, la TRT parece ser neutral en la apnea del sue\u00f1o para la mayor\u00eda de los hombres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Realidad: Beneficios vs. An\u00e1lisis de Riesgo Necesario<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La terapia de testosterona claramente ayuda a muchos hombres que experimentan s\u00edntomas de baja testosterona (bajo-T). Beneficios como el aumento de la energ\u00eda, la funci\u00f3n sexual, el estado de \u00e1nimo, la motivaci\u00f3n y la vitalidad han sido demostrados consistentemente.
